The ferociously beautiful Milla Jovovich's good looks are the reason she started modelling at the young age of 11. But very quickly, the beautiful Ukrainian, born on 17 December 1975 in Kiev, was to become a young woman highly sought after by the film industry. In 1988, she made her acting debut in Zalman Kig's film Two Moon Junction, featuring again 4 years later in Robert Downey Jr's film Chaplin.
But it was in 1997 that the extraordinary actress' career really took off. That year she was scouted by producer Luc Besson to play the role of Leeloo in his film The Fifth Element, before stepping into the costume of the eponymous heroine in Joan of Arc two years later. Filming continued for Milla with the role of Alice in the Resident Evil films from 2002, the fifth of which is to be released in September 2012.
Not afraid to hide her numerous talents, in 2004 she released her first album, The Divine Comedy and, in 2003, created the clothing line Jovovich-Hawk with Carmen Hawk. The brand, which had already seen huge success, added to its achievements in 2006 when it was nominated for the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund award by the Council of Fashion Designers of America, founded by Anna Wintour. A L'Oréal ambassador since 1997, Milla, with her beautiful feline eyes, has also been involved in a number of charity initiatives including The Ovarian Cancer Research Fund and the American Foundation for Aids Research.
