Welcome, Miss Lea Michele!
L'Oréal Paris is over the moon to announce that Miss Lea Michele is the newest company spokesperson.
When Lea heard the news, she broke into a rendition of "I Dreamed a Dream."
Just kidding about the last part. It was more like the staff of L'Oréal whose dreams came true.
"I am thrilled that Lea joins our roster of amazing spokespersons," said Cyril Chapuy, L'Oréal Paris Global Brand President.
The soprano starlet with big vocals and a lot of charisma made her name in the hit series "Glee."
In the series, she plays geeky Rachel. In her new role as a spokesmodel, she'll be trading in her geekiness for glam, something she already does with her red carpet appearances. It just goes to show that even the geekier stylistas amongst us have an innate sense of glamour.
Lea spoke to that upon her acceptance of the position as spokesperson.
"L'Oréal Paris encourages women to embrace their beauty and celebrates their self-worth," Lea Michele said. "I feel very honoured to be working with L'Oréal to help spread that message to young women."
Starting Young
Lea's love affair with music started young-- at just eight years old, she made her professional debut as Young Cosette in the Broadway production of Les Misérables. Apparently, her love of make-up started at the same time.
"Growing up on stage, I was introduced to make-up at a young age and I will never forget the first time I tried on a L'Oréal Paris iconic lipstick-- it was instant glamour," the starlet recounted in the press release.
Since her initial role, Lea Michele has moved across numerous Broadway stages, starring in such classics as Fiddler on the Roof, Ragtime and Spring Awakening.
And there is, of course, her most famous role-- Rachel in Glee. Lea Michele has received a People's Choice Award, a Teen Choice Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. She has also received an Emmy nomination and two Golden Globe nominations.
What's next
Lea will be lending her voice to the role of Dorothy in the animated version of The Wizard of Oz that is coming out next summer.
No need to click her heels together-- she's already home.
"We are so honored to welcome her as a member of the L'Oréal Paris family," says Karen T. Fondu, president of L'Oréal Paris USA. Other spokespersons include Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé Knowles , Julianna Margulies , Eva Longoria , Freida Pinto and Aimée Mullins among others. Lea Michele's L'Oréal advertising campaign will be launched in 2013.
