The crop top is the trend to follow
With the arrival of good weather, fashionistas everywhere are on the lookout for new styles. Summer fashions are always sexier and usually mean more skin on show! They also may mean the return of old trends!
Goodbye 90s and welcome to 2012
The fashion sphere was a bit dubious at first about the return of the crop top. When it first appeared again, it reminded everyone a bit too much of the 1990s, an era...er... not always known for its fashion. However, you can't fail to admit that without the "Dance Machine" paraphernalia, crop tops are actually more becoming than they seem at first glance.
The stars love it
The crop top is now definitely back with a vengeance, having been seen on the catwalks of Miu Miu, Dolce & Gabbana, Marni, Isabel Marant, Preen, Emilio Pucci, Antonio Berardi and Prada.
The stars have revamped the crop top look, timidly at first at music festivals, and then by making it the clothing article of choice for the dressiest events, such as film previews.
We saw the fabulous Freida Pinto in a ravishing outfit made up of a mid-length skirt and matching crop top at the photocall for the film "Desert Dancer," screened at the Cannes Film Festival. Selena Gomez was wearing a similar outfit, in a short skirt and crop top at the Kids' Choice Awards, with Rooney Mara opting for a mismatching minimalist ensemble in Berlin. Summer has arrived, and this trend doesn't show any signs of vanishing any time soon.
Let's take a look at some of the best crop tops.
