Miss USA Nana Meriwether looks beautiful for charity dinner
Miss America Mallory Hagan, who is from New York, isn't the only beauty queen supporting post-Hurricane Sandy relief efforts in the big apple. Miss USA Nana Meriwether, who is queen of the 50 states according to a rival competition, was on hand at a recent auction dinner raising money for Hurricane Sandy relief effots. Miss Universe Olivia Culpo-- a former Miss USA titleholder-- was also at the event.
For Miss USA Nana Meriwether, getting glamorous for a good cause is nothing new. The 27-year-old beauty queen is the co-founder of a charity called the Meriwether Foundation, which raises money to fight the spread of AIDs and HIV in five countries in southern Africa: Mozambique, Zimbabwe, Malawi, South Africa and Zambia.
Nana obviously inherited some of her parents' initiative-- Nana was born in South Africa where her parents were doing relief work.
Like a pro, Nana looked splendid for the charity event. She posed in a colourful dress that she balanced with a simple, polished beauty look. Like Olivia Culpo, Nana favours this kind of glossy, but natural look. She avoids colourful eye makeup and instead focusing on bringing out her natural glow with some carefully applied blusher. Nana wore her hair loose-- but boy did those sleek locks shine, the result of some really good shampoo.
What can we say but keep up the good work? We're sure that Nana will continue to be the cover girl for good causes in New York, the rest of the USA and beyond.
