Kristen Stewart is a natural as Snow White
"Mirror, mirror, on the wall... who's the fairest of them all?"
At its very core, the story of Snow White is a story of beauty.
An evil queen's one desire is to stay young and beautiful forever. The only person who can keep her from that is a young and innocent girl, who is born devastatingly beautiful.
In the story, Snow White is described vividly. Raven-black hair. Skin as white and perfect as newly fallen snow. Lips as red as blood.
In the retelling of the classic fairytale, Snow White and the Huntsman, Kristen Stewart took on the role of the girl of devastating beauty. And she merited the casting in every way.
After the Twilight vampire movies, Kristen Stewart is no stranger to pale. But instead of looking bleached-out, she looks porcelain perfect in the film, thanks to her natural beauty and great au naturel styling.
As Snow White's perfect skin is part of the story, Kristen had to pay extra special attention to her complexion. She is already luminous, but the film was the occasion to really put primer, highlighter and powder to work for a perfect base! And just because the adjective of the day is "snowy" doesn't mean her face lacks depth.
It is actually the contrary-- the last thing Kristen wanted was the zombie effect, so her look is constructed with lots of discrete touches of colour that make her glow. A hint of blush..
Subtle but striking contrast plays a central role in Snow White (and Kristen's) look! Instead of going with a deep, dark red lip colour, she wears a pink several shades darker than nude. Its subtlety is eye-catching because it is just light enough to make you think it is natural. Next, her brows are ever-so-slightly darkened to bring them out against her snowy complexion. She also wears a hint of eye-liner under painstakingly curled lashes to emphasize her eyes.
Finally, her raven-black hair. In the film, Kristen ties her hair up in a loose plait with romantic curls escaping to frame her face or she lets it fall in loose, luscious waves. For the same effect, curl your hair and then run your fingers through the curls to loosen them. This will give your hair an effortless look!
Beauty isn't about overdoing it. To be the fairest of them all, Kristen shows us that all your have to do is bring out your own natural grace.
