Kesha at the AMAs: is she becoming normal?
When Kesha rocked up to the American Music Awards on 18 November looking less than her usual crazy self, we started to worry. The last time we saw her, Kesha had black eyeshadow all over her face and looked as though she was trying to compete with Lady Gaga for a crazy style prize of some kind. So what's changed?
The "normal" look à la Kesha
To be honest, we were a little disappointed with Kesha's latest red carpet appearance because we rather enjoy anticipating what her next ecclectic ensemble might be. This isn't exactly what we had in mind.
For starters, Kesha's pink dress wouldn't have looked out of place at a high school dance... well, it wouldn't have shocked THAT many people, anyway. Is that even Kesha? Secondly, check out that hairdo. It is a little bit on the try-hard side of things, not what we'd call natural, but it's hardly a wild Kesha classic.
On top of that, there wasn't even any make-up "art" going on, just nude lips and smokey eyes? How predictable...
The not so normal finishing touches
Fortunately, the singer did leave a few traces of her old self in this new outfit. Her nails – long, black and just a little intimidating – reminded us of the Kesha that we're used to, phew! We also liked her spikey ear cuff because it looked pretty cool (it's a hot trend in celeb land right now) and it proved that Kesha still has an edge... a shiny pointy one.
The really good news is, however, that Kesha went for a completely out of this world look for her actual performance at the AMAs.
