How to get K-Stew's grunge hair
Kristen Stewart's outfit was casual for the most recent screening of "On the Road," but her hair and intense eyes said it all.
Don't.mess.with.me.
The star has taken a hard style line of late. Yesterday, we saw K-Stew looking more gangsta than innocent beauty.
And today, her gaze could turn Vikings to ice.
If you want to copy Kristen Stewart's statement eye make-up, up the ante of a traditional smokey-eyes look with bold strokes of eyeliner.
Her 'do, however, is a bit more complicado. So we thought we'd break it down for you.
Step one: curl those locks.
It looks to us like Kristen started by gently curling her brown hair into long tendrils and then adding A LOT of hairspray.
Step two: never mind the curls, mega-dose your hairspray on the crown of your head.
You'll need this to tease your hair into a nice quiff.
Step three: tease, baby, tease.
Using a fine-toothed comb, backcomb (this means running the comb up and down short lengths of your hair) to add volume to the front of your hairdo. The hairspray OD should hold that volume in place.
Step four: take one curl at a time and start pinning to the back of your head.
Act like you are going to do a messy bun. Instead of pinning the ends under, however, let the tendril curls hang long and loose like Medusa. Pin the curls under and over eachother for added effect. You can also make a mini-loop with a strand of hair, pin it down and let the end flow loose.
Warning: Don't pull too hard. You want to maintain that hard-earned volume.
Step five: grunge it.
With all that teasing and hairspray, your hair should be looking a little frazzled. Add the last bit of grunge by mussing your curls a bit.
And there you have it. One hairstyle that is FULL of attitude.
