Fuchsia lipstick... after Aishwarya Rai, is it a makeup trend to try?
Aishwarya Rai is an Indian star also well-known in Britain... and in France. Indeed, she is a regular at the Cannes Film Festival and appeared no less than four different times at the 2013 edition. Each time, she looked fantastic, but one of her appearances really stood out, probably because she was wearing a standout lipstick in a bright fuchsia shade.
Basically, we were on hand at the Cannes Film Festival to watch films... and, more importantly, get makeup inspiration. And Aishwarya's fuchsia lipstick was one of the most inspiring styles we saw!
Why you should be inspired, too...
Spring is here and summer is coming, whether it looks like it outside or not. Summer tends to see more colourful trends take hold than during the dark winter months. Fuchsia lipstick is the perfect place to start when adding some vibrance to your look... it's fresh and girly and much easier to adopt than some other colourful lipstick trends, like orange, for example!
Who should try it?
Everyone! Fuchsia really does goes with any hair colour. For someone with a darker complexion, it'll look fashionable and on trend while for a blonde, it might end up making you look baby doll sweet. But both are good looks!
It might seem like a pretty specialized colour, but fuchsia comes in a lot of shades and forms. You can wear it matte or glossy, for example, and there is always the option of trying some fuchsia nail polish to match!
Fuchsia lipstick kind of runs with the same rulebook as red lipstick. Pair it with a tee-shirt and flats to instantly make you look a little dressed up. For an evening out, pair it with a little black dress to look classy and fashionable or with a pink floral dress to make you look extra sweet.
So, the question is... is fuchsia the new red? Only time... and your lips.... will tell!
