From the Sydney catwalk to your wardrobe
Let's face it. As much as we all love looking at what is strutting down the runway, it sometimes seems a little removed from our day-to-day fashion.
As in, I don't usually say "Oh, great idea, Ulyana Sergeenko! I, too, am going to go to work with a black veil over my face!"
But with a little creativity, you can get inspiration from these events. That's why we decided to take a look at what is hot down under at the MBFFS catwalk (that would be, Mercedes-Benz Fashion Festival Sydney) and adapt it to our every day use.
Trend No. 1: Feathers
Just because you aren't daring enough to arrive at work with wings or plumage all over your face doesn't mean that you can't opt for a delicate feather tucked into your braided bun or a pair of feathery earrings.
Trend No. 2: Fuschia lipstick
We, here at Celebrity Red Carpet, are believers in a good lipstick (don't believe me? Check out Kathy's story of lipstick saving the day .) And fuschia is just a great colour.
It is more fun and less grown up than a deep red.
Trend No. 3: Turquoise nails
This is just as fun as the fuschia lipstick... in fact, if you are feeling really bold, you could pair 'em both together for a really dynamic look! Bright coloured manicures are the it look of this season... even the guys have started wearing them !
Trend No. 4: Sunglasses
Ok, we have only done about five hundred million articles on how cool sunglasses are ... inside, outside, wherever! This is a gender-bending fashion statement-- dare we say that the guys started this one? If you are feeling less bold, use your shades as a headband. If you really want to rock 'em, shade your eyes from the fluorescent light in your office... ohhhh, yeah.
In conclusion....
Here is the cool part of all this. If you try one of these styles and someone comments on it, you get to say "Oh, thanks, mate... I just saw this at the Sydney Fashion Festival."
