From catsuit to red carpet, Anne Hathaway is ready
The world premiere of Christopher Nolan's much-anticipated film "The Dark Knight Rises" was held in New York on 16 July 2012. Anne Hathaway, the latest actress to assume the role of Catwoman, ditched the infamous black leather catsuit for a long white gown.
Has the feline femme fatale come back to the light side?
Anne Hathaway was positively angelic on the red carpet in a low-cut Grecian-style dress; it was a far cry from the sultry black ensembles of Catwoman's alter-ego Selina Kyle and the lethal functionality of the catsuit.
"I love the costume because everything has a purpose, nothing is in place for fantasy's sake," the actress recently told the L.A. Times...
Even her stilettos are potentially deadly.
Notice how Anne Hathaway isn't even carrying a clutch at the premiere. Who knows what that dress might be capable of...
Chop and change
Since completing the filming of "The Dark Knight Rises" the actress has chopped off her trademark long brown hair , going for a short pixie cut instead.
The radical hairstyle change happened for a reason: think revolutionary France rather than Gotham City... Anne has recently begun filming "Les Misérables", in which she plays Fantine. Fantine is a frail, deteriorating beauty who after a series of morbidly unfortunate events, contracts tuberculosis.
Thankfully, the actress had a very healthy glow on the red carpet in New York.
A dazzling look
The recently engaged star was radiant as she posed at the film premiere in both New York and London.
In New York, she donned an incredibly elegant gown with an exposed jewel corset and a plunging cowl back. A pair of simple stud earrings were her only accessories, which really allowed the dress to stand out.
In London, she sported a loose gown embellished with flowers. We are thinking she needed to breathe after all that catsuit time...
Miaow...
In New York, Anne Hathaway's make-up included (rather appropriately) an understated cat-eye look. Perhaps Catwoman was lurking somewhere beneath Anne's bright-white ensemble. In London, she kept the eyeliner bold and added a bronze eyeshadow to finish.
Anne finished off her make-up on both occasions with rose blusher and a bright red lipstick: a bold choice that would make Catwoman herself proud. In London, she sported a softer pink shade, though it still stood out against her complexion.
From a leather-bound femme-fatale, to a gravely ill revolutionary prostitute and finally to dazzling red carpet appearances, Anne Hathaway is nothing if not versatile.
