For Ne-Yo, it's always the year of the gentleman
Our man Ne-Yo may be so sick of love songs, but we will never get sick of this charming American R & B artist, producer and songwriter.
Not only would he make the perfect boyfriend... but he is dapper to boot.
Ne-Yo showed up in shades and hat to the 'Songwriters Hall of Fame 2012' Annual Induction and Awards Gala on 14 June 2012. Arriving with a swagger, a hint of scruff and a devastating midnight blue silk suit, Ne-Yo was a red carpet item at the New York Marriot Marquis Hotel in New York City, NY, USA.
Behind the scenes
From the flashy way he dresses, you'd never guess that Ne-Yo actually has an incredible backstage presence for many of the best-known names in music. He has written songs for just about everyone-- from Beyoncé to Lindsay Lohan to Enrique Inglesias.
Ne-Yo actually started his career as a hit song writer before he hit the stage himself. His first successful single was "Let Me Love You," written for Mario.
Since then, he has dabbled in all different genres-- from rap to soul to... yes, Japanese pop!
Ne-Yo has even said that he was working on songs for Michael Jackson's upcoming album before the singer's untimely death.
In musical terms, he likes to step out of the box.
Mr. Independent
Ne-Yo's fashion in one word.
Class.
No sweatsuits for this guy. In fact, as Askmen.com pointed out in a love song to Ne-Yo, there is no one who "can break a move in a three-piece quite so effortlessly."
The star is also major fan of the fedora, even sporting it in various versions in most of his music videos.
Actually, let's make that he is a major fan of hats and accessories in general. Remember his ski caps in "So Sick"? And he is rarely spotted without a touch of diamond bling.
True to form, the crooner sported a soft fedora and a midnight blue silk suit at the Songwriters Hall of Fame. He also went with one of the hottest looks of the moment: sunglasses. Yes. Ne-Yo can make sunglasses worn inside look anything but ridiculous (you can pull it off, too! )
Au contraire, Askmen.com has called him "suave" and "sophisticated."
Ne-Yo, one sentence. You look so good that it hurts.
