Demi Lovato helps fight bullying in NYC
Demi Lovato has joined Louis Walsh, Britney Spears and Kelly Osborne in a bid to stop bullying. The bubbly singer headed down to a school in East Harlem, New York yesterday as part of the "Mean Stinks" campaign.
The newly appointed X factor (US) judge and singer is a role model to young kids and as such was also appointed ambassador for "Mean Stinks".
Saying yes to kindness
As it's a new school year it is nice to see the powers that be addressing bullying issues before they have the chance to escalate. Bullying is an international issue and by encouraging kids to be kind to one another, hopefully we will see less and less of it.
Demi spoke to the kids during their assembly and they did an anti-bullying pinky promise that they would not bully anyone by painting their little finger nails blue.
A friendly get-up
Several celebs have admitted they were bullied as children and Demi is one of them, which is probably why she is passionate about the campaign. The young starlet has a tattoo saying "Stay Strong" on her wrist which is testament to her own experience and determination to carry on.
No doubt this will add an extra element to the campaign when she reaches out to young people and hopefully encourage them to be kind to each other.
