Cannes 2013: Lea Seydoux and Adele Exarchopoulos, breakout stars of "La Vie D'Adele" screening
French sweethearts Lea Seydoux and Adele Exarchopoulos were back on the red carpet last night for the premiere of their critically acclaimed film, La Vie D'Adele, at the 66th Cannes International Film Festival.
A hit with the critics
We thought it would be hard to top their look earlier in the day but they took style to the next level for their premiere and they were still in high spirits. Even before its release everyone was talking about the flick and critics have been raving about the girls' performances.
The jury at Cannes and the film critics at the festival are known for being quite discerning, so if you can win their respect, you are well on your way!
La Vie D'Adele (The Life of Adele) is a film adaptation of the novel Blue is the Warmest Colour by Julie Maroh. It tells the story of a girl, Adele, who visits a bar with her gay friend after an emotional breakup. There she meets a beautiful young woman with bright blue hair called Emma.
A passionate love affair follows and the colour blue becomes symbolic of happiness. But as the relationship becomes strained Emma lets the blue grow out of her hair and as her tresses revert back to natural blonde the relationship crumbles.
The actresses were hugging once again and they both looked stunning with their almost matching up 'dos and cat flick eyeliner. We loved Lea Seydoux's long black satin number teamed with jade accessories which gave it an elegant splash of colour. Her co-star Adele Exarchopoulos went for a more adventurous black and white harlequin woven minidress and looked equally chic.
These two have become really close and we have no doubt that this flick will be a huge success. Unfortunately we will have to wait until later in the year to see what everyone's raving about but we're sure that it will be well worth the wait!
