Call the Midwife's Helen George: Her short blonde bob haircut & fuchsia lipstick
British actress Helen George hardly looked like a midwife when she attended the launch of the new UKTV channel 'Drama.' But that's to be expected, of course-- we're just used to the blonde actress playing midwife Trixie in the BBC One mini-series Call the Midwife. But the red carpet event on 27 June was more about delivering glamour than delivering babies, so Helen got that just right!
Helen's retro bob is a bit more 1920s than 1950s (when Call the Midwife is set), but it fits Helen well. A short hairstyle is eye-catching and her platinum blonde colouring emphasises the look that much more. Hair that light could also serve as a beacon as she rides her bike through London in the middle of the night to deliver its babies... just saying.
Also-- if you are thinking of updating your look, both the bob and the bright blonde are great choices, especially for the summer!
Not your average midwife's make-up look
Helen's choice of fuchsia lipstick contrasts drastically with her light complexion and bright blonde hair. She would have let her fuchsia lipstick take centrestage, except that her baby blues are too bright too let them get left behind. Her make-up solution was a stroke of black liquid eyeliner that reflected her black collar and served to bring out her eyes. It also was simple enough to pair with a bold lipstick!
Looks like Helen's not just a baby expert, she's a beauty expert, too.
