Beyoncé shows her charitable side
The epitome of the word 'diva', Beyoncé Knowles raised the roof at the U.N. for World Humanitarian Day on 10 August, singing her 2011 ballad "I Was Here".
Yummy mummy look
The L'Oreal Ambassador and megastar hit the stage rocking a full length glittering gown with cut out detail. The figure-hugging number suited her beautifully.
Her caramel tresses were swept up into a high and very elegant ponytail that helped show off her immaculate make-up. She went for natural foundation, a touch of eyeliner, co-ordinating silver eyeshadow and popping pink lipstick. She looked absolutely stunning.
A song to make a difference
The performance wasn't just to entertain the audience of world leaders and peace activists, it was for a video which will be released on 19 August to mark World Humanitarian Day. The ballad she sang was written by songwriter Diane Warren and is about leaving your mark on the world.
Diane and Beyoncé have donated the video as part of a global campaign which they hope will encourage one billion people to pledge online at whd-iwashere.

Getting involved
"We all see the headlines and we think, what can I really do to help?" Beyoncé said in a statement.
"World Humanitarian Day is an opportunity for all of us to work together to make a difference. This is our time to leave our mark on the world and show that we were here and we care," said the songstress.
If there is one thing Beyoncé knows how to do is leave a mark on the world. She proved that despite her own motherly responsibilities she still takes time to think about how she can make the world a better place. How inspirational.
Who runs the world? Beyoncé!
