Beauty blog: mismatched nails spice up Kathy's workday
I recently got my hands on a couple of new nail polishes and I found it impossible to decide which colour to choose. But then I realized that I didn't have to.
Having seen Mr Milla Jovovich, otherwise known as Paul W. S. Aderson with some very colourful nails at a press conference, I decided to got a bit wild on the nail front myself.
'So what if my nails don't match?' I thought to myself. Variety is the spice of life, after all!
My varnishes of choice were dark blue and deep purple shades... I was going for an 'angel of the night' look, you see.
A side note: I was wearing some pretty crazy zig-zag leggings, too, that day, so I was feeling wild. I maintain that style, food, love and life in general are all a lot better when they're a little bit crazy. I don't mean that everyone should go out and get all Nicki Minaj on us, but still, her wardrobe is probably more fun to play with than Kate Middleton's.
So, back to the colourful claws...
I had two bottles of nail polish and I had two hands.
Surely the logical way to wear both would have been to apply one to my left hand and the other to my right... but no! How predictable is that?
I decided to mix them up. Seeing as the colours didn't contrast too much, I reasoned that putting them on alternate nails wouldn't be too much off a shock.
Two coats and a topcoat later, I had snazzy, hard-wearing and colourful nails with a mismatched twist that could handle a day, or three, tapping away in the office.
Marie, my poor collegue who puts up with me showing her silly pictures and waving my nails in her face even gave me a compliment... not that she really had a choice. In any case, it was a good day! I typed away happily, safe in the knowledge that my colourful nails were the snazziest in the office.
