Battle of the trends: red lips vs. fuchsia lips
Fashion Week is in full swing, moving from town to town. Even if the runway shows are different, certain trends seem to stick. Whether in beauty or fashion, some trends have made their way on the runway: this is certainly the case with both sexy red lips and fun fuchsia lips.
Already everywhere for the Spring/Summer 2012 season, it appears that red and fuchsia lips have a very bright future ahead of them.
So to decide which of these two trends to adopt, we decided to compare them.
Forever red?
Timeless red lips are a MUST nearly every season. Day or night, summer or winter, red lipstick livens up your lips in a bright fiery colour and enhances your overall make-up. Scarlet lipstick can dress up even the simplest look.
Perfect on blondes, brunettes or redheads and on pale skins as well as darker tones, red suits everyone...yes, even the shy folks who always come up with an excuse not to give red a shot!
However, red lips can lose their class if not worn carefully. It is DEFINITELY good to know the beauty tricks to avoid the trashy look.
Pink = girly?
Let's put an end to misconceptions: pink does not necessarily mean girly.
Adopted by many stars of all ages, fuchsia is a flashy color that brings a touch of crazy cool to your looks.
Less extreme than red, and less conventional, fuchsia is modern and very trendy.
However, if fuchsia lipstick is a must-have in the summer, it is difficult to wear throughout the winter (indeed, it will be tough to match this colour to your knitted jumpers and brown boots).
Like red, fuchsia can quickly become too much, so a girl needs to adapt the rest of her make-up accordingly.
The question
Red lips or fuchsia lips?
While the boldest dare the fuchsia lips, most will opt for the classic red lips. They are both winners when used properly!
The thing to remember
The ultimate anti-glamour effect: lipstick that stains your teeth. And yes, like all lipsticks with intense colour, red lipstick and fuchsia lipstick require certain precautions. Be sure to do a lipstick check before heading out!
So what trend will you set?
