Ashley Tisdale and the dip-dye revolution
Dip-dye has been all the rage on the red carpet this summer; Demi Lovato, Louise Bourgoin and Collette Carr have all been snapped rocking multi-toned locks. The style is one way to turn your tresses into... accessories!
Ashley Tisdale showed us exactly how to work dip-dye when she attended the premiere of Summit Entertainment's "Step Up Revolution", on 17 July 2012.
The American actress and singer straightened her locks and then left her long, golden California girl tresses to hang loose across her shoulders.
Her purple tips added an unexpected touch of colour to her bright white outfit.
A shot of colour
The "Hellcats" starlet rocked a strapless white number with black and white striped heels and a co-ordinating clutch.
Dip-dye is a clever way to inject colour to a neutral outfit. It is a good way to play with neon even if you aren't yet ready for an all-out tropical look (like the dress worn by Stacey Bendet).
Celebs have also been using eye-shadow in the same way.
Marion Cotillard sported vibrant red eyeshadow to add a hint of colour to her ivory ruffle dress at "The Dark Knight Rises" premiere in NYC earlier this week and Jennifer Hudson rocked sunshine yellow eyeshadow at her concert in Chicago.
Low-key makeup and vibrant tresses
Ashley's make-up was elegant and low-key: she opted for all natural foundation, a hint of eyeliner and nude lipstick. This is why the purple dip dye was so effective!
Dip-dye revolution
Ashley was at the premiere to support her director boyfriend, Scott Speer, who is making his debut as a director with the film.
He must have been proud to have her by his side. She seemed to enjoy it, too; after the premiere, she tweeted: "So proud of my man @_scott_speer. This is by far the best step up yet. If u don't believe go out and see it July 27th! #StepUpRevolution."
We don't know about Step Up Revolution, we definitely have a dip-dye revolution on our hands and we are loving it!
