Anne Hathaway's woodland-style beauty look

Anne Hathaway turned up for a night at the ballet in a flurry of leaves... well, leaves are falling and the summer is officially over now, folks! Anne's trademark brown hair got the chop for her latest role as Fantine in "Les Misérables". We think that her controversial short 'do really came into it's own at the New York Ballet Gala, allowing the actress to show off great make-up.

Pixie cut for a pixie

She looked a bit like a pixie, regardless of her hair, as she glided about on the red carpet in an autumnal flurry. She was dressed in a long, woodland-inspired gown that was pretty sheer and, not unlike Tarzan, there were a few well-placed leaves...

Still, we don't think Tarzan, or Jane for that matter, could have whipped out a make-up style as impressive as Anne's last night.

Getting seasonal

We all know that smokey eyes are everywhere right now, but we never really considered creating a season-appropriate version of them before. Anne's smokey eyes involved a careful blend of gold, green and brown eyeshadow, some heavy black kohl around her eyes and a coat of mascara.
