America Ferrera is definitely not Ugly
When America Ferrera hit the red carpet at the "End of Watch" premiere in Los Angeles on 17 September 2012 she rocked a look that was enough to make anyone patriotic (even us non-Americans).
The "Ugly Betty" actress was more stunning starlet, than eager misfit. There wasn't a brace or tank top in sight. Instead she sported a chic floor-length teal blue gown with gathered waist and cross-over front detail. She paired it with a black clutch and jewel encrusted earrings.
Red, white and blue!
Her hair was swept to one side in an elegant chignon. She opted for natural foundation, catflick eyeliner and bold red lips. All we need is a bit of white and she's more or less wearing her own name (red, white and blue for the American flag).
America is best known for her role as the endearing Betty Suarez in the hit TV series "Ugly Betty".
She has also had a successful film career, starring in movies which include Disney's "Gotta Kick it Up" and the coming of age flick "Real Women Have Curves".
Her persona in "Ugly Betty" was not considered conventionally beautiful but she was determined to make it in the fashion world. America dubs her transformation from America to Betty as "Bettification" and interestingly enough she was one of the few characters that were really 'beautiful' in the show.
Her heartfelt performance in the show earned her a heap of awards including a Golden Globe and a Screen Actors Guild Award.
She might have portrayed a so-called 'ugly' character on the show but yesterday she was positively stunning!
