A "fun." Look
Pop-rock trio fun. is a burning brighter than the sun in America.
Everyone is rocking to their original jam: a blend of indie rock, hip-hop nuances and theatrical performance.
And all the pretty girls are after the oh-too-cute hipster group members (especially lead singer, Nate Ruess, formerly of The Format).
Tonight, Britain will get a taste of the boys pop-rocking the Billboards when they appear on the Graham Norton Show alongside Danny DeVito and two Welsh household names: Charlotte Church and Rhod Gilbert.
fun.'s fast movin' success
"Give me a second... I need to get my story straight..."
fun. was born only a few years ago when Nate Ruess got together Andrew Dost and Jack Antonoff and started jamming.
A few years later, their first album, "Some Nights" is a worldwide success. Their producer is Jeff Bhasker represents both Beyoncé and Kanye (Nate admitted that he had to go for drinks to loosen up before meeting with Jeff). He was loose enough to sing a few strains of the song "We Are Young..." during that first meeting with Jeff.
Nate said Jeff's "jaw dropped" upon hearing the song.
Sure enough, "We Are Young" recorded with Janelle Monae, is No.
1 on the charts and has become an anthem of 2012.
"It's kind of surreal," Nate Ruess said on "All Things Considered" on American radio station NPR.
They are currently on world tour.
fun.'s fun style
If you aren't already in love with their voices, you'll be in love with their style. The boys have adorable hipster style.
Nate Ruess has been to known to rock capris, a plaid shirt and a wife beater in his video "All the Pretty Girls" while his fellow band member Jack Antonoff jams with his iconic glasses and a Canadian tux (jean on top and bottom).
But the band is best known for the retro side. The boys bring us back in time with their hit piece "Some Nights," which has a civil war theme (who is not going to melt for a boy in uniform?) But fun.'s signature look is the iconic 50s tuxedos and bow-ties they rock in No. 1 single "We Are Young."
"Some Nights..."
...like tonight, for example, you can turn into the Graham Norton Show and watch the fun. for yourself!
