A crazy situation with Maria Menounos
Let's play a guessing game.
Who is the star who...
- is the only journalist to date to interview the entire Obama family
- has competed (and won) WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) matches
- spent six years serving coffee and donuts at Dunkin' Donuts
- speaks fluent Greek
- has been Punk'd
- has presented the Eurovision song contest
- has starred in a video game
- has been featured in a Jessica Simpson music video
- is known for having what might be THE weirdest laugh in Hollywood?
It's.... American actress and journalist Maria Menounos!
Not going to lie, we started off wanting to write about Maria's funky hairstyle but when we found out more about this chick, the article kind of wrote itself. Don't worry, we'll get back to the hairstyle, but Maria, the current host of Hollywood insider "Extra," has done all of the above (and much more).
"I am always finding myself in crazy situations," Maria said in her introductory video for Dancing with the Stars (Oh, did we tell you she almost won that, too?)
Yeah, we'll second that.
The 'do
Remember the days of the fabulous fountain ponytail (think primary school)?
Well, it's back!
For the Dizzy Feet Foundation's Celebration of Dance Gala, Maria made us dizzy with fantastic half-up, half-down fountain 'do.
It's actually super simple. While we can't breakdown with you how to win a WWE match, we can tell you how to make your hair look just as good as Maria's lovely locks.
How to:
Maria started with a quick blow-dry (for volume) and a run-through with a pair of straightening tongs.
Next, she separated her hair in half. If you want, you can put the bottom part in a loose pony while you work on the fountain bit.
Volume is the key for this look. Maria separate the hair into about five little sections. She teased and sprayed them and slightly twisted each one before drawing them together in the high pony.
Secure your high pony with a hairband.
Now comes the little touch that made Maria's 'do so fabulous: the hairband of hair! This look spices up any ponytail and is THE look in Paris at the moment.
All you do is pull out a lock of hair, wrap it around the hairband and secure it with a bobby pin in back. If you don't have a pin, tuck the end into the band!
For another day...
Maria wore her hair as straight as can be, but for a different look, you could try a version with wild waves!
What will she be up to next?
That, my friends, we can't tell you. But we can tell you it will be fabulous!
